Many parents were surprised when they received their children’s listening test results in school recently. One parent was appalled that her son, who usually performs well for other components, scored single digit for the most recent listening test (maximum of 30 marks)! Even though listening test is only 10% of the entire O Level English paper, it is important that students do well for this component to pull up their overall grades!
Parents (and students) often fret over the fact that schools are not providing enough listening practices. Truth is that no publisher publishes O Level Ten Year Series (TYS) for listening! So, I’ve tried my best to put together the resources I can find. If anyone kind parents would like to share your resources, please feel free to contact me.
Listening Test resources:
This is the only secondary English listening assessment book available in Popular. It consists of various tips for listening and speaking, some short listening exercises and 3 full practice papers for listening. The audio files are available only online.
